Columbus home prices going up in 2011!

by Maureen McCabe on February 1, 2011

Columbus Ohio is on a list of cities where home prices are expected to go up this year.    REALTOR® Magazine has a list from Clear Capital 10 Cities Where Home Prices Will Rise in 2011. The REALTOR Magazine article says:

While home prices are expected to continue to fall in most metro areas, Clear Capital’s Home Data Index report says a few cities are already on the rebound and showing some gains in home values.

Not a huge increase is expected.  Columbus is number 5 on the list and the REALTOR ® Magazine article says:

Columbus, Ohio: 2.1 percent price increase”

When you see national headlines about prices falling in 2011 it may not apply to you as a Central Ohio home buyer or home seller.  Real Estate is local.  To keep up on Central Ohio market values watch Discover Columbus Ohio, I do monthly market reports there for communities in northern Franklin County and southern Delaware Counties.  There is a link to Columbus real estate on the front page here that shows the headlines of the most recent posts on that site.

Real estate is local.  West of Columbus?  See the note at the bottom of the REALTOR® Magazine article about Dayton Ohio?  One of the markets in the US which will have steepest price drops.

REALTOR® Magazine is a publication of the National Association of REALTORS®  (NAR) a national trade organization.  I am a member of  NAR.
