Columbus Board of Realtors MLS Breaking News…

Realtor symbolColumbus Board of REALTORS® MLS  Breaking News…  The official May 2010 home sales the article is titled:

May closings maintain frenzied pace”

Originally published yesterday on ‘Discover Columbus OH – Columbus real estate’  and ‘Worthington Old and News – Worthington real estate’   Tuesday June 22, 2010.   I went on…

You will be seeing that info from the Columbus Dispatch*, Business First Columbus,  the local TV news today too.  (emphasis added.)

The article on the Columbus Board of REALTORS® site says:

“Central Ohio home closings in May significantly outpaced the previous month as well as the previous year. The number of home sales last month (2,401) were up 27 percent over April of this year and were 32.7 percent higher than homes closed in May of 2009.”

I did a market report for all counties served by the Columbus Board of REALTORS® MLS a couple of weeks ago…

On June 9, 2010 I boldly wrote Columbus Ohio home sales up 26.2% (original on Discover Columbus OH – Columbus real estate. That local market report was reposted here on  as well.  Comparing year over year sales for single family homes, in the entire area served by the Columbus Board of REALTORS®. The Columbus Board of REALTORS® figure is all residential sales combined (which is part of the reason I do single family home sales.)   The  Columbus Board of REALTORS® numbers include single family homes and condominiums.

I always wonder if after TrendGraphix information is available about 7 to 10 days into the month if closings still trickle in so when the Columbus Board of REALTORS ® issues the official word if there is a difference because of that too…  I wonder if the numbers are reconciled… I have to believe that is the difference between what is available a week to ten days from the end of the month and what is officially announced.

This is encouraging news from the Columbus Board of REALTORS® MLS official word on home sales in Central Ohio:

“Home sales this year (January through May) now exceed 2009 by 24 percent.”

May 2010 single family home sales broken out by school or ZIP code:

Columbus Ohio 43214 home sales up 28.2%

Columbus Ohio 43235 home sales up 42.3%

Dublin home sales up 50%

Olentangy schools home sales up 15.1%

Westerville home sales up 49.4%

Worthington home sales up 33.3%

Dublin, Westerville, and Worthington sales figures are for the school district as a whole.

*A similar post  was published on ‘Discover Columbus OH – Columbus real estate’  and ‘Worthington Old and News – Worthington real estate’  Tuesday.   I don’t see the breaking news on the Columbus Dispatch yesterday or today.  I see a line about the NAR announcement about national home sales.  Nothing  local… I am not picking on the Columbus Dispatch.
