I was elated when you prophesied an early spring this year. I was getting cynical thinking that groundhogs day was a ruse… that the calendar says it’s winter until March 21….. and nothing about your crawling out of bed in early February is going to change that… It had been a mild winter really anyway….
There have been times in the past two weeks though where I thought you had let us down… when the temperatures dropped and the snow fell and fell and fell and fell some more… I thought your prediction that we did not have six more weeks of winter was dead wrong… I doubted you and P. Phil the groundhog in western PA.
With the 40°+ weather yesterday and what is in store for us this week… you are redeemd. Cancel the groundhog stew*……
