John Lockwood calls me "the other Maureen" or maybe it is Maureen Francis that John calls "the other Maureen."

We are in a valley... Down in the valley, the valley so looooooooow... the Ohio River Valley? The stormy weather that they experience in the part of CT (or maybe all of CT itty bitty state that it is) that Don Fabrizio - Garcia lives in is always hit by storms coming out of the Ohio River Valley....

The hilly parts of Ohio are just east and south of Columbus...

Not sure if I'm the other karen or not...lol. Where I am will probably have different patterns than you because I'm in the more mountainous region - the northernmost part of the Poconos and right before the Catskills. You are in more of a plains or low-lands region, correct?

The other Karen (or maybe Karen M. is the other Karen and you are Karen),

I think PAs weather should be just like ours! Although I am going to have to look at a map of PA and get my PA bearings.

I know though when I moved from Akron Ohio (NE) to Dayton Ohio (southwest) I was surprised by how much more volatile the weather is... how storms often spring up so quickly. We get into a weather pattern where we get storms each afternoon and/ or evening day after day in Columbus. The tornado sirens get a work out and the TV stations try to out do one another. People get angry when baseball games, favorite shows are pre-empted for storm coverage because there are tornadoes in outlying counties. We had storms in Akron and of course I remember tornado watches and warnings growing up in Wisconsin but I think our spring and summer weather in Central and Southern Ohio is much more stormy.

The T shirt idea.. is a good one, we should have one for our recent record snowstorm.

Our area generally doesn't have tornadoes, though one ripped through here about 11 years ago, taking everyone by surprise and killing numerous trees in the State Forest. It was a sight to behold. No lives lost but a lot of damage, and some enterprising folks made T shirts to sell about surviving the great tornado. LOL
