It’s a boy…
Mama elephant Phoebe and daddy elephant Coco have a new baby.
The Zoo’s press release says:
“Updates on Phoebe and her calf can be found on the Zoo’s web site www.columbuszoo.org Facebook, and you can follow us on Twitter.”
The new baby was born about 2:35 PM this afternoon.
Phoebe and Coco are 4 year old Bodhi’s parents….and Phoebe has another child from a previous relationship.
The new baby will not be on display for awhile. After a 655 day gestation period Phoebe is getting a rest too. I am sure we’ll hear when the new bundle of joy is available to view. Bodhi was the first elephant born at the Columbus zoo. He was born on April 16, 2004… Bodhi will be five.
They are Asian elephants.
