Gahanna – The Residences of Creekside

Residences of Creekside modelThe Residences of Creekside is the residential component of  a mixed use development in “Olde Gahanna” on the Big Walnut Creek known as Creekside Gahanna.  The Residences of Creekside are luxury condominiums in this “town center” infill development.  Tuesday evening I had an opportunity to visit  The Residences of Creekside in Gahanna,  the luxury condominiums built by The Stonehenge Company.

Reading this outside the Columbus area?  Gahanna is a suburb of Columbus, outside 270, east of town.  Port Columbus Airport is south of Gahanna.  Gahanna is about 35,000 population.  The 2000 census was  32,636 people.  The area is served by the Gahanna  Jefferson School District.   So Creekside Gahanna is a town center in a small city in a large US metropolitan area.  Lets say The Residences of Creekside are different than most suburban living in Central Ohio.   The developer says ” Suburban Living Redefined.”

The 71* luxury  condominiums at The Residences of Creekside range in size from 815  square feet to 3800 square feet.    There have been 18 purchases but because of buyers wanting “more”   there are  22* units, sold.  So despite an unprecedented recession buyers are combining units at The Residences of Creekside  for more space.  We toured an unfinished unit that I believe is the “sale pending” listing in the Columbus Board of REALTORS® MLS (multiple listing service.) The MLS says that condominium is approximately 4600 square feet.  According to Stonehenge, nine buyers have closed.  We had an opportunity to meet some of the community on their rooftop.  Their rooftop has a pool and fitness center and had wine and  hors d’oeuvres  Tuesday evening, fun!  Even without wine life at “The Residences of Creekside” has to be fun.Residences of Creekside roof-top pool

Living at this town center  with  a city park right outside your door,  on the creek, overlooking a plaza made for playing … with access to fine restaurants has got to be fun.

The Residences of Creekside – Tax Abatement

The Residences of Creekside has a 15  Year, 100%   Tax Abatement, which makes this a surprisingly affordable luxury development.  Other factors that make it affordable are low condo fees, the grounds are a city park, maintained by the city.

Who would move  to The Residences of  Creekside?  The neighbors I met included a single lady who moved to ‘The Residences of Creekside’  from a condo in Sharon Woods (a northeast City of  Columbus neighborhood)  and a couple who moved there from a “big house” in  Marysville.    Talking to both residents   “the quality of life”  came up.   One home owner compared living  in her condominium in  Gahanna’s town center, Creekside to living in Granville.   The Stonehenge Company Vice President, Adam Trautner who is intimately involved in the sales of  The Residences of Creekside talked about transferees who have chosen these luxury condominiums over others in Central Ohio.  In telling us about how customized the interiors of the condominiums can be (totally) Trautner described a very traditional  Philadelphia interior to match a transferee from that city.

Tuesday evening Mo Dioun of  The Stonehenge Company talked about how diverse Gahanna is and how this town center with it’s mix of public places including the park and the plaza as well as office, retail, restaurant and residential space redefines suburban living.

Jane says “It looks like a dreary day in that one picture” it was twilight? Does it stay bright and sunny in Boston until the sun sets? We get something called twilight here…

Jane- The sun always shines on The Residences at Creekside from my perspective! Check out the website for some better pics of the pool. I will be having my dinner poolside again tonight!

What do they mean by “redefined”?

While I don’t want to speak for the builder these condominiums are unlike other suburban living opportunities in Central Ohio.

A classy way to say different???
