Columbus Good Friday Collection

by Maureen McCabe on April 10, 2009

Garbage blogging alert!  If you are looking for religious services, calendar of events, etc.  this is not the place…

Today, “Good Friday” is NOT a trash collection holiday in the City of Columbus… it says so right on the color coded charts each year.

2009 chart.

The next holiday that affects City of Columbus residents is not until Memorial Day.  You can look up your address on the site, then look at the chart for the corresponding color.

“Your trash-collection color is NAVY

Your trash-collection day this week is THURSDAY

Your subscription recycling collection day is WEDNESDAY”

If you are ever confused just call the hotline:

“customers can call their collection-color hotline, (614) 645-[YOUR COLOR]; example: 645-NAVY (6289)”

So remember next week NAVY residents and everyone…  we remain on the same schedule… ignore that nagging feeling that we just had a holiday so trash pickup schedules have been affected.  Easter does not affect the calendar because it is always on a weekend, Good Friday does not affect the schedule.

Yard waste pick up starts on April 20 for subscribers.  The new Columbus yard waste pickup is different than recycle subscription.  It has changed, you need to subscribe if you want pickup or take your yard waste to a recycling center or compost.  We’ve got options!

I have written about the new Columbus Yard Waste Pickup options before:  Columbus New Yard Waste Pickup

Happy Easter…
