BIA Parade of Homes 2012 – The Meadows of Lewis Center

by Maureen McCabe on July 1, 2011

It was on Columbus Business First this morning at 6 AM.   The BIA announced to the press that the 2012 BIA Parade of Homes is in Delaware County again.  The Meadows of Lewis Center subdivision in Orange Township developed by Silvestri Homes will be the location.  The Meadows of Lewis Center  development is right on Lewis Center Rd, just west of S. Old State Road.  The Columbus Business First article has a great map.*

The Silvestri site says of  The Meadows At Lewis Center neighborhood:

“Homes starting in the 300′s to over 500,000. The Meadows At Lewis Center is a 61 lot subdivision located in Lewis Center Ohio, Delaware county, Orange Township. There will be an eight acre plus open space with a beautiful pond.  There will also be another 2 1/2 acre open space in the subdivision. Meadows At Lewis Center is located seconds from all the recreational activities of Alum Creek.  Easy access to the new Kroger Market place on State Route 23, I-270, I -71, Shopping and restaurants.”

I have driven by this future community, often the last few weeks…

The Meadows at Lewis Center just east of what I think is the  real “Lewis Center”…. I really need a photo of  The Meadows of Lewis Center, sign with a prettier blue sky.   The photo was taken during the 2011 BIA Parade of Homes in June 2011. There was lots of rain in June 2011.

The 2011 Parade of Homes, at Olentangy Falls was mostly production builders (Rockford Homes, M/I Homes, Dominion.)  Only three of the 2011 Parade of Homes builders are considered custom homes, New England Homes,  P & D Builders and Weaver Custom Homes.   Will the 2012 BIA Parade of Homes see a return of the Central Ohio custom builders?  The Columbus Business First article today  saying  Silvestri has never participated in the Parade of Homes was a surprise.

Will New England Homes* be in the 2012 Parade?   I think you can safely assume New England Homes will build another award-winning home at the Meadows at Lewis Center, for the 2012 BIA Parade of

Homes.  Southern Delaware County is New England Homes stomping grounds.  Real Living HER Builder and Developer Services represents New England Homes.

The Columbus Business First article this morning says:

“The site is close to the burgeoning Route 23 retail corridor and Alum Creek State Park. The development will include houses in a variety of styles priced in the $400,000s to $600,000s. Co-owner Joe Silvestri said the builder has set aside 13 lots for next summer’s home tour.

“If 15 or 16 builders want in,” he said, “I think we can offer a few more lots.”

There are links to a site strictly about  Delaware County real estate in the side bar on

I would link to the Columbus Business First (or is it Business First Columbus?)  article but I am not sure they do not put content behind a pay wall after a few days.  There is a great map…

* Links removed March 2013… two were broken.  The third deserved to be broken ; – )
