Who Could Be More Romantic than Columbus?

by Maureen McCabe on February 8, 2013

Columbus north of the Scioto Mile

Who could be more romantic than good old Columbus, Ohio?  Columbus is the 5th most romantic city according to Open Table.   Columbus is in the top five of the Top 25 Most Romantic Cities!   Who could be more Romantic than Columbus?

1. San Antonio, TX

2. Austin, TX

3. Providence,  RI

4. La Jolla, CA

5. Columbus, OH

“The OpenTable Most Romantic Cities Index was calculated using three variables: the percentage of restaurants rated “romantic” according to OpenTable diner reviews; the percentage of tables seated for two; and the percentage of people who dined out for Valentine’s Day.”

Looking at a link of the “Best Overall Restaurants – Columbus”  but thinking I would be looking at a list of romantic restaurants I was not surprised to see  ‘The Refectory’  at the top… when I actually noticed the link to the Most Romantic Restaurants in Columbus which says “See Romantic Restaurants” right under “5. Columbus, OH”  on the ‘Top 25 Most Romantic Cities’ list on OpenTable.com, The Refectory is in 2nd place on the list of Romantic Restaurants.  Or maybe the lists of romantic restaurants in Columbus  is just a list of ten, not an ordered list.

1.  The percentage of restaurants rated romantic

2. The percentage of tables seated for two

3. The percentage of people who dined out for Valentines Day

I put the startling news that Columbus is the 5th most romantic city in the sidebar on ColumbusBestBlog.com when I first heard it on Tuesday via Twitter.

Family dining and not a romantic dinner for two

Not looking for romance this Valentines Day? Looking for a restaurant for a family meal? Someone I follow shared that  Rusty Bucket Restaurants in Columbus have “Kids Eat Free” deal on Valentines Day this year.   Someone I follow shared that on Facebook the other day.  Have I  “shared” that yet on ’365 Things to do in Columbus Ohio’ yet?  I will.

Do you believe Columbus is more romantic than Boston? New York City? Chicago?  San Francisco, restaurants in pretty little seaside cities in New England,  etc.
