Someone tweeted Food Spotting… I went to see what was spotted in Columbus or Central Ohio.
Cup O’ Joe’s hot spiced apple cider! That’s it… that’s all I find. That cup O’cider is the BEST. Congrats Cup O’ Joe. The pictured cider is at 2990 N High St Columbus, Ohio.
Spotted by Seth Andrzejewski about 1 month ago.
OK I did not check all the Columbus Suburbs… I did check Dublin, Gahanna, Grandview Heights, Hilliard, Lewis Center, Powell Upper Arlington and Worthington. I think I forgot Westerville.
Seth’s Cup O’Cider comes up for both Columbus Ohio and Upper Arlington, but that’s all I found on Food Spotting from Central Ohio. How is this different than Yelp and others? You are finding a dish or a cup not a restaurant… and sending a photo. Not a lot of words, spelling, grammar etc. to worry about.
Food Spotting says:
“Be the first to spot foods around Worthington*!
We believe that good food can be found anywhere — so show us your sightings!
Or uncheck “Limit results to map area” to see the latest sightings everywhere.”
Or *Dublin, Gahanna, Grandview Heights, Hilliard, Lewis Center, New Albany, Powell Upper Arlington, Westerville and all other places Central Ohio….
I joined. Of course I joined foursquare and have not done the first thing with that.

I just got an email… notice the last names? No not Grubb. Think Seth and Alexa are related? Or just a coincidence?
Think that is a real Central Ohio “Food Spotting” ??? or an example?
I am an early adopter but this is wild.
To become a Foodspotter:
1. Find a food and “Want it!” by zooming in to see your neighborhood or out to see sightings around the world using the map.
2. Spot something you’ve eaten lately by adding a sighting or emailing a photo to food@foodspotting.com. You can find and add details to your emailed sightings under Collect.
3. Nom a food you’ve tried and loved by finding it or adding it and “Nomming it!” to vote it up.
4. Earn reputation points whenever someone Wants (+10) or Noms (+25) a food you spotted first.
5. Check back often because we have a lot more in development, including following people, places and foods, Flickr and Facebook integration, and our long-awaited iPhone app!
As we prioritize our efforts, we’d love to hear what’s important to you! Please send us an email or use the Feedback tab to chat with us.
Thanks and Happy Foodspotting!

Thanks for helping to rally some Ohio love for Foodspotting! Seth is indeed my husband — a Fredericktown, OH native and fellow OSU grad, so yeah, we’re the only Columbus spotters so far! Hence the cry for help.
I know there are lots of good things in Columbus — we just haven’t been back in town yet to spot til this week!
We’ll be in Columbus for dinner tonight in fact — any suggestions for unique foods to try? Looking forward to more Columbus spottings!

Alexa I saw your Food Spotting on Bethel Road tonight. Banana Leaf… I have never been there.
I’ll be posting a lot more (beautiful!) photos from Banana Leaf soon! It was a fantastic experience: A four course “grand buffet” where they brought dish after dish right to your table. The owner was there and clearly cares about bringing Indian Street Food to American palettes and plates!

I don’t know why but I don’t think I was even aware of Banana Leaf. I love Indian food. I love the Bethel Road area, Indian food, Indonesian food…. a couple of my favorite Mexican restaurants….
