I only saw the closed sign Saturday or Sunday…. “Closed” on the Restaurant Widow blog…
Excuse me for sharing the blog post in it’s entirety but it said “Restaurant Widow is closed until further notice” with a photo that could be driving west in Ohio in any number of locations in the evening.
I told myself Lisa and her husband were traveling…. A tour of Wine Country? Or maybe even Europe? Vacationing. Away from home and kitty cats for an extended period so she closed her blog down. I had to hang onto the “until further notice” in her post in my denial… Restaurant Widow could NOT be over…. closed for now but not shuttered.
Restaurant Widow a Columbus food blog has been around since 2005. Why close it?
There’s more to the story. I follow Lisa via Twitter too so I had used Twitter search to see if my vacation theory held any water. That did not look likely. Sunday Lisa posted “Why”… it is personal and it is public. Over because of haters? How sad. I believe the Restaurant Widow blog was the first Columbus food blog I knew of… one of the first Columbus blogs I discovered.

she blogged about it…check her blog again!
Thanks for the comment. Thanks for taking the time to at least read the beginning and commenting.
MyColumbusOhioblog instructs:
" check her blog again"
No thanks. I read it. Thoroughly. With full comprehension.
Obviously my post failed to hold your interest as I mention the WHY there toward the end. I thought about adding a link to that post as well but decided against it because well I decided against it.
Thanks for stopping by and reading and commenting….
She seemed to be a little depressed in some of her postings, commenting about not buying clothes because she had gained weight for example or how a barmaid paid more attention to her husband than her. She was also very critical about back of the house staff in restaurants. It's ok to do that among your fellow waitstaff, but don't bash the cooks in a public forum. A food blog should be about food, eating, and cooking, and all of the joy associated. It should not include self-indulgent whining. Additionally, if one gains a degree of celebrity, one should be nice to their fans. She was a good blogger but not a personality.
I thought she was a personality… most people are or have one. I missed the criticism of house staff…
Or maybe personality was meant as celebrity?
It's back open isn't it?
