Worthington: It’s a Wonderfull Life

by Maureen McCabe on March 27, 2013

‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ in Worthington…   Wrong holiday but Worthington, Ohio is wonderful at Easter time and spring as well as Christmas. Year round… some of my favorite Worthington photos are from the autumn.    Below are some images of  Worthington in the springtime, 2012 photographs.

Springtime in Worthington is wonderful:

Wo Presbyterian Church April 2012

The photo of the Worthington Presbyterian Church is from spring 2012.  Easter was a week later in 2012 but our spring weather was about three weeks ahead of usual.

St. John's Episcopal Church Worthington Ohio 2012

The photos of St. Johns Episcopal Church and Worthington Presbyterian Church are from Good Friday in 2012.  I can NOT remember a Good Friday service with snow on the Worthington Green… and I hope all signs of winter are gone from the Worthington Green for Friday’s community service on the Green.

A “thing to do in”  Worthington on Friday, March 29, 2013:

Worthington Good Friday 2012

The photo is from the Good Friday service on the Worthington Green in 2012.  The Salvation Army is one of the churches involved and their band is always a highlight for me.  On their Holy Week Schedule online St. Johns’s Episcopal Church website says of the Worthington Community Good Friday Service on the Village Green:

“Good Friday Services – March 29th, services at Noon and 7:00 p.m.:*Noon – (Tentative) Worthington Community Good Friday Service on the Village Green. We begin in front of the Presbyterian Church and will progress around the Village Green. The service concludes in the St. John’s Cemetery.”*The 7:00 service is in the St. Johns’s Episcopal Church.

I’ve gone to the Worthington Community Good Friday Service on the Village Green several times.  In the past the Worthington churches who have participated included St. John’s Episcopal Church, Worthington Presbyterian Church, the Worthington United Methodist Church, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, The Salvation Army, The Worthington Seventh-Day Adventist Church.    Others?  I am doing that from memory.

A “thing to do in”  Worthington on Easter Sunday:

Wren House, Worthington, Ohio

I tried to share Wren House’s email (a large graphic)  directly to the ’365 Things to do in Columbus Ohio’ on Facebook (there is a link in the sidebar here on ColumbusBestBlog.com.)  Another Easter Egg Hunt, a thing to do in central Ohio.   Details from an email from Wren House about the Easter Sunday event:

“HAPPY EASTER!!!  Join Wren House Gifts on Easter Sunday for an Easter Egg Hunt!!!  Sunday, March 31
10:00 am – 5:00 pm

695 High Street
Worthington, OH 43085

“Eggs will be hidden around the store on both floors for anyone to find. Eggs will be filled with candy, prizes, discounts or coupons.”

I hate to link to Facebook but I do not see a website for Wren House in Worthington.  Wren House has 35 new photos for spring on their Facebook  page  Wren House.

If you have things to do in Columbus, Worthington, Westerville, Powell, Dublin, etc.  share them with others on the ’365 Things to do in Columbus Ohio’  on Facebook link in the sidebar of ColumbusBestBlog.com ;-)

Have a wonderful week, weekend wherever you are in central Ohio.
