Willkommen to Columbus this Weekend!

by Maureen McCabe on September 28, 2012

Oktoberfest in Columbus

Willkommen to Columbus this Weekend because in addition to the usual Friday Night Football and Saturday morning Farmers Market, it is Oktoberfest Weekend in Columbus Ohio.

September 28, 29 and 30, 2012 is  Columbus Oktoberfest

Brats, beer (or bier?), Bahama Mama’s and cream puffs because this is a Schmidt’s event .

September 28, 29 and 30  is also the Riverfront Arts Festival in downtown Columbus.  More details are available on DispatchEvents.com

Thanks to Ray George of Yay Bikes! for adding the Yay Bikes! Saturday morning ride on ’365 Things to do in Columbus Ohio’ on Facebook.

The  Yay Bikes!  Riverfront Arts Festival post says:

“Genoa Park (the riverside park behind COSI) between September 28 – September 30. On Saturday, September 29, Yay Bikes! is heading a bike ride starting at 9:00 AM at Washington Boulevard and West Broad Street. The ride will span 15 miles around the city”

more details in the post written by Cole.Miller on the Yay Bikes! site link above.

Chalk the Block is Saturday and Sunday at Easton.  More details available on Facebook and the Easton website.

Tonight, September 28  is  Autumn Columbus Food Truck and Cart Fest at Columbus Commons.

Saturday is Market Day in Worthington.  It’s a big deal for Worthington.  High Street is closed.  High Street in Worthington

Can’t make it to Oktoberfest?  Looks like Wurst Und Bier at Crosswoods (in the Worthington area, north of 270) has their own little Oktoberfest going on this weekend.  Their website also says they have Oktoberfest in October.  It will be Willkommen to Worthington in October too.

As always when looking for more info on Columbus events the ExperienceColumbus.com site is the best place to start.

The image is High Street in Worthington in October a few years ago.  Leaves are changing in 2012 but not that fast.
