Things to do in Columbus Other than St. Patrick’s Day

There are things to do in Columbus in March other than celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

There are sports to watch in Columbus:   Blue Jackets hockey, the  Columbus Crew home opener and boys and girls high school basketball are in town.  The Girls OHSAA basketball championship runs  March 14, 2013 to March 16, 3013 at Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.  The boys OHSAA basketball championships is starting next Thursday  March 21 to 23, 2013 at the Schott.  You can catch Ohio State basketball on TV in sports bar’s all over central Ohio.

Some of the best restaurants in central Ohio are in the midst of  ‘Dine Originals 10 – A Culinary Adventure.’


Friday, March 15 2013   there is The Frequinox: A Prequiniox to the Equinox.  It  is a “Special Event” in the Brewery District at  Via Vecchia Winery.  No idea what that is but personally I like the sound of “Frequinox.”  Spring is coming to Columbus and even some spring weather at some point.

It started yesterday,  Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap presented by Worthington Community Theatre runs through March 17, 2013

“Strings Attached: The Living Tradition of Czech Puppets” runs through August 2013.  Sundays are free at the museum.


The Columbus International Auto Show started yesterday.

“Where’s the beef”

Did you even know ‘The Ohio Beef Expo’ is in town this weekend?  Today March 15 through March 17, 2013 at the Ohio Expo Center.  And the Ohio Beef Expo is FREE.

For more details try 614-644-3247  or the Columbus event is more of a trade show but if your interest is beef, by all means be there.

Beef?  I like mine corned this time of year with cabbage… and if you know about what’s happening in central Ohio for St. Patrick’s Day. There are many local events for the “holiday.”

St. Baldrick’s a fundraiser for pediatric cancer is at Fado’s  Irish Pub at Easton Saturday, March 15, 2013  at noon.
