Hi, Maureen.

I visited the 2012 Ohio State Fair on its first day yesterday afternoon. It’s my first time to visit and I spent a good time exploring the crafts and creative arts pavilions. The people I spoke with were very friendly and enthusiastic about their work. I also dropped by the livestock exhibits and events, as well as the Civil War camp.

Here’s a photo album I put up at Facebook to share – http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.286605568113668.63425.282318248542400&type=1

There’s obviously a lot to see (and eat!); I probably got through only a third of the Fair. I plan to return there again.

Great photos. I shared them on the 365 Things to do in Columbus, Ohio page on Facebook. Yesterday was a much better day than today to be at the fair, although it is looking like people are headed back out after the rain, wind and lightening today.

I hope your part of town did not have any damage this storm.

I hope to get out to the Ohio State Fair on a cool day next week.

Maureen,

After I visited the fair again with my wife and child, I wrote up a blog post “Visiting the 2012 Ohio State Fair”. You can find it here – http://nibofthought.info/blog

The fair has been great! I hope to return next year.
