Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

T-shirt Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

I volunteered to work at Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Columbus in the summer of 2011 but all I got was the T-shirt…  and to watch from afar.

The Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Christmas show which is airing tomorrow night was shot last summer in Columbus.  I went to the pep rally at  Grace Brethren Church.  I volunteered to work the first day, got the email, drove down to the staging center, but I got there after the bus had left for the makeover location.  A volunteer sent a few of us over with contractors who were headed to the makeover location.  The volunteer said we’d be  given a T-shirt at the makeover location.  We were told almost immediately when we got there that we would not be given T-shirts that  we should have received  a T-shirt when we checked in.  A  very nice,  very tall producer tried to find us T-shirts so we could participate.  No luck.  We followed along behind the action all afternoon and evening.  We got to meet some Santa Clauses

We got a T-shirt when we were delivered back to the staging center by bus later that night.   We met other people who had spent the day at the makeover location but could not participate because they did not get a T-shirt.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is on TV Friday evening.  It is on WSYX at 8:00 PM Friday December 16, 2011.   Breaking news this evening? This is the final season for the show and the final episode will air in January 2012…

Edit: I see on P&D Builder’s Facebook page, there is a 7:00 PM behind the scenes show locally too.  It’s on Channel 6 too.

You would think such popular show could be more organized with people so willing to help. I’m sorry I missed the airing of the show.
