I got a sneak peak into LOST EGYPT; ANCIENT SECRETS, MODERN SCIENCE on Thursday.
The special exhibit at COSI opened today and runs through September 7, 2009.
COSI’s LOST EGYPT blog on the COSI website gives lots of behind the scenes info on this world premiere event in Columbus.
I was trying to look at the LOST EGYPT exhibit through the eyes of my favorite six year old Indiana Jones enthusiast… or he’s nearly six year old. I was watching the Columbus Mommy bloggers and their little ones to see what interested them. Pictures of modern day Egypt and Egyptians? Building a pyramid? Putting the shards of a pot back together? The shifting sands of the desert?
Or… the real human mummy, an unidentified girl about 16 to 18 years old, known now as Annie?
There was so much to see I missed the real animal mummies and why animals would be mummified.
The camel is NOT real.
The pretty young woman being interviewed is a real living archaeologist. An archaeologist with a great accent. Mark Lehner, an archaeologist spoke to the group of media (including bloggers) and VIPs Thursday about finding LOST EGYPT. Lehner has been in Egypt for 30 plus years. They are just here for the grand opening of course.
I will have to go back to see the LOST EGYPT exhibit again. Maybe when a certain six year old comes to town.

I know a certain soon to be six year old who would LOVE to see this exhibit! We'll have to go soon as it sounds awesome.
:- )
I did not like museums as a kid. Of course museums weren't all like COSI back in the olden days…
