Columbus Oktoberfest 2009

by Maureen McCabe on September 3, 2009

Put it on your calendar… Ich bin ein Oktoberfester. I am an Oktoberfester.
Columbus Oktoberfest lives on despite rumors to the contrary….
Actually German Village wanted German Village Oktoberfest to come back to German Village but residents did not want it on their street. Schiller Park where it Columbus Oktoberfest started in 1967 was not an option.

Schmidt’s Restaurant came to the rescue and moved the 2009 Oktoberfest to the Ohio Expo Center. Columbus Oktoberfest 2009 is in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Park area at the Ohio Expo Center.

There’s plenty of room at the Ohio Expo Center and Columbus Oktoberfest will go on rain or shine.

According to the Ohio Expo Center Calendar – admission is free.  Parking is $8. There’s lots of parking….

The residents of German Village can suck it. It should be in GERMAN VILLAGE.

The residents of German Village should be thouroughly embarrassed. They should not have so blatantly turned their backs on the heritage of the very Village they have chosen to live in. German Village is going down the tubes and people need to wake up and realize that. They need to get some of the older, more experienced people back in charge over there to do German Village some justice again as the wonderful, quaint and historic place that it is!

Typical elitists are once again proving themselves to be culturally inept. Go to hell, we will never bring business to your area again.

Will there be a big screen to watch the game on Saturday? Will there be beer/ That's all I care about.

There will be beer…. Big screen TV? I'd bet there will. Aren't they required in Columbus on game day where more two or more are gathered? I remember there being one at the Italian Festival the last couple of years.
