Columbus neighborhoods events for National Night Out

I heard on the news last night that many Linden and Franklinton area neighborhoods had plans for National Night Out, tonight.  I saw the sign about the Maize Manor neighborhood event about a week ago…. that’s what is pictured above.   The picture is a sign on Karl Rd  I mean Maize Road.   That was my first reminder of this yearly event.

National Night out is not just for big cities like Columbus, suburbs including Worthington and Powell have National Night Out activities planned.

City of Powell

“The Powell Police Department will host its National Night Out event from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 at Village Green Park. The evening will include a variety of family activities.”

Worthington says:

All Worthington residents are invited to attend a special event on National Night Out from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Selby Park in the Colonial Hills neighborhood. Neighbors might also consider holding their own event, such as a block party, cook out or neighborhood gathering.

The national site for National Night Out says there are events in:

Columbus, Dublin, Grove City, Hilliard, Minerva Park, Powell, Reynoldsburg, West Jefferson, Westerville, Worthington.

There are two townships listed that may be central Ohio: Are the Genoa Twp and Sharon Twp., our central Ohio communities? There’s Genoa Township in southern Delaware County near Westerville and Sharon Township in northern Franklin County near Worthington.

The National Night Out website says:

“29th Annual National Night Out” (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 7, 2012″
