walk the tight rope?

try the trapeze?  fly through the air with the greatest of ease…

aerial contortion?

be shot out of a cannon?   Do Cirque du Soleil performers do that sort of thing?

Or do the amazing acrobatic feats of Cirque du Soleil amaze you but

“I’d rather just watch, safely on the ground thank you very much.”   ???

Cirque du Soleil in Columbus

Have you seen a Cirque du Soleil performance live?  I saw Cirque du Soleil’s Dralion a number of years ago.  I could be wrong but I believe Dralion was the first time Cirque du Soleil came to Columbus.  Or perhaps I was just unaware of Cirque du Soleil before Dralion was presented in Columbus in… ? We tried to get tickets to a Cirque du Soleil performance in Las Vegas… shortly before Cirque du Soleil performed Dralion in Columbus but the Las Vegas show was sold out.  When Cirque du Soleil came to Columbus  I believe the “Big Top” was set up in the Arena District for Dralion…

The raffle for the tickets runs for a week.

The pair of tickets being raffled off is from Live Nation!  Thanks Live Nation.

If I was a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, I’d dazzle on the aerial contortion in silk.

2 Maureen McCabe July 11, 2013 at 09:09 am

Good odds on winning those tickets so far, Leanna! It seems like you know Cirque or acrobatics. I am impressed w/ your “aerial contortion in silk” comment. You can comment daily to increase your odds. You may not have to though.

Thanks – I am a HUGE cirque fan and would LOVE to go – here’s my second daily entry:

If I was a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, I’d love to amaze on the German wheel.

4 Leanna July 12, 2013 at 12:10 pm

Okay , third daily entry

If I were a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, I’d tumble and jump on The Wall – like a rock climbing wall with a trampoline at the bottom. – looks like so much fun!

5 Leanna July 13, 2013 at 01:42 pm

Fourth daily entry –

So, let’s see – If I were a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, I’d delight on the synchronized trapeze.

6 Maureen McCabe July 13, 2013 at 01:48 pm

No competition!

7 Leanna July 14, 2013 at 01:26 pm

Yeah, just upping my chances in case someone else jumps in!

Fifth daily entry –

If I were a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, I’d juggle while riding a unicycle!

8 Maureen McCabe July 15, 2013 at 10:51 am

You certainly deserve the tickets, Leanna.

Good odds.

There was a guy name Matt at the Westerville Arts and Music Festival yesterday spinning a beach ball while riding a unicycle. I was impressed.

9 Michelle July 15, 2013 at 05:31 pm

“If I was a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, I’d play a cool bug in Ovo like the butterflies performing a pas de deux on a rope ”

10 Leanna July 15, 2013 at 08:22 pm

For my sixth daily entry –

If I were a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, I’d captivate by demonstrating my flexability by hand-balancing on canes.

11 Jocelyn July 15, 2013 at 09:15 pm

I’d swing from ribbons over the crowd!

13 Chris Pugh July 16, 2013 at 07:17 am

Walk a tightrope

14 Jocelyn July 16, 2013 at 07:32 am

I’d be the lion tamer! ;)

15 Maureen McCabe July 16, 2013 at 07:59 am

Thanks all… keep ‘em coming. 1 day and 16 hours to get more entries in.

16 Brenna July 16, 2013 at 10:33 am

Finally be over my fear of heights & would soar over the crowd!!!!!!

17 Angie Meeker July 16, 2013 at 10:50 am

If I were a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, I’d go to Jeni’s in my costume and Instagram myself eating some Strawberry Buttermilk. Let’s just be honest.

;-) I’d love to win these tickets! Our anniversary is Sept. 22 – they’d make a great early present!

18 Leanna July 16, 2013 at 01:36 pm

Lucky 7th daily entry

If I were a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, I’d gracefully swing from a chandelier to keep the audience on the edge of their seats!

19 Jason July 16, 2013 at 02:03 pm

I Would Do A Cartwheel On A Tight Rope

20 Jocelyn July 17, 2013 at 09:06 am

21 Maureen McCabe July 17, 2013 at 09:14 am

Thanks all! Happy Anniversary Angie… a little early. The post about the winner won’t be up until Friday but I will email the lucky winner tomorrow.

22 Leanna July 17, 2013 at 01:02 pm

For my eighth daily and final entry-

If I was a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, I’d envy the patrons in the audience who are privileged to enjoy with wonder the amazing world that is Cirque du Soleil!

Thanks so much for the contest Maureen! It’s been fun and I’m hoping to win and surprise my friend whose birthday is on opening night!

23 Maureen McCabe July 18, 2013 at 08:29 am

Thanks all for entering and the entertaining acrobatic feats!
8 entries for Leanna
1 entry for Michelle
3 entries for Jocelyn
2 entries for Jason
1 entry for Chris Pugh
1 entry for Brenna
1 entry for Angie Meeker
That is a total of 17 entries… I have checked and rechecked and will check that again. Check my math and speak now or forever hold your peace.

I will put the names that are not in Rafflecopter, into Rafflecopter. Rafflecopter is kind of a pain, and kind of confusing but I like Rafflecopter for pulling the names in the raffle. I should have everyone’s email so I will email the lucky winner today.

There will be another drawing in August for two tickets, thanks to Live Nation Columbus! If you don’t win this raffle please come back and participate when we do a drawing for Totem tickets in August.

24 Jocelyn July 18, 2013 at 10:20 am

You’re math looks right but I didn’t receive an email. :(

25 Maureen McCabe July 18, 2013 at 10:53 am

I am still working on reconciling the Rafflecopter. I think I have everyone in but Michelle. I came back for her email address. Rafflecopter HERE is only showing 9… but that may change. There were three entries on the Rafflecopter that did NOT leave a comment. Sadly I removed those three to be fair to those who commented here and finished the sentence. Online raffles can be confusing. Off to add Michelle in and see if I see 17 entries on Rafflecopter.
I just went through my spam filter from July 10 to July 18 to see if the three who used Rafflecopter but did not comment here on the post finishing the sentence had commented on a wrong post. Lots of creepy comments in the spam filter and two internal links. I wondered why they never showed up when I wrote the two extra posts to generate traffic and get comments here.
This is work!

26 Maureen McCabe July 18, 2013 at 12:38 pm

I may have to resort to a hat and slips of paper. Off to show homes. Rafflecopter did not want to show 1 Jocelyn and 5 Leannas. Got it down to three missing but I have to run show homes now.

27 Leanna July 19, 2013 at 10:08 am

Maureen – I’ve seen other Rafflecopter contests that allowed daily entries. Yours only allowed one entry per person. It’s probably an option in there somewhere. Thanks for only including the people the entered on the Rafflecopter and left a comment – I agree it wouldn’t be fair if they didn’t follow the rules and do both. Fingers still crossed!

28 Maureen McCabe July 19, 2013 at 10:35 am

I will have to study Rafflecopter! The winner has been emailed… watch for a post.

29 Jocelyn July 19, 2013 at 10:59 am

Congrats to the winner for I did not receive the coveted email…shucks.

30 Maureen McCabe July 19, 2013 at 11:03 am

psst… I am working on the post. Did I ever mention Live Nation is allowing me to do this again… in August? Stay tuned.
