Columbus cannabis culture

Michael Revercomb-Hickman added the 4/20 Central Ohio NORML party on  April 20 at 4:20 to ’365 Things to do in Columbus Ohio’  on Facebook.  Thanks Michael. NORML is a national organization… that’s the N.   NORML is National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.   The Saturday, April 20, 2013  Central Ohio NORML  event at  Circus Columbus Bar,  1227 N High St., Columbus, Ohio 43201.   The Facebook event says of the April 20, 2013 party:

  • Raffle
  • Silent Auction
  • Door Prizes”

Did you know 420 is meaningful? I did not but I was curious,  an event at 4 /20 at 4:20.  Also a comment on the Facebook event about Saturday being like Christmas? I Googled.   Wikipedia told me about “420 (cannabis culture.)” Wikipedia was first but the significance of 420 or 4/20 or even 4:20 is elsewhere to read about online.   Wikipedia says:

“420, 4:20, or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) is a term used primarily in North America to refer to the consumption of cannabis and, by extension, a way to identify oneself with cannabis subculture. Observances based on the number include the time (4:20 p.m.) as well as the date (April 20.)”
