“Do you still play outside?”

Earth Fare ( a supermarket chain with a location in the Polaris Area)  asked that question on Facebook today.  This could be a great weekend to play outside in central Ohio.  The weather… we are going to be a lot cooler.  Fall like?

Earth Fare asked “Do you still play outside?”  today with a beautiful green photo that had trees and a stream.  Playing in the woods.  I never like hiking in the summer.  Any summer.  I like hiking in the spring and fall.  I even like winter hiking.  I never have enjoyed hiking in the summer, or at least not since I was a kid. The photo is Highbanks Metro Park in June a few years ago.

The summer of 2012 has definitely been way too hot to enjoy playing outside in central Ohio for me.  Highbanks MetroPark Lewis Center, Ohio

I have gone to lots of outside events this year in Columbus and central Ohio, the Dublin Irish Festival, the Columbus Art Festival, the Memorial Day Parade in Worthington, the Field of Heroes in Westerville  but I have NOT played outside a lot this summer because it was too hot for me.

Organized outside stuff in central Ohio this weekend includes:

Pelotonia is this weekend,   Saturday and Sunday, the race starts at 7 a.m. The opening activities are at Columbus Commons on Friday.

Festival Latino is downtown this weekend at Genoa Park and is FREE  www.festivallatino.net

Organized, unorganized, disorganized  go play outside in Columbus this  August, it’s cooler.
