Back to School at Columbus City Schools for the 2012 – 2013 school year.
Back to School? Already? The 2011 – 2012 school year just ended for school kids in the Columbus school district, didn’t it? For the 2011 – 2012 school year the last day of school in Columbus City School District was May 31, 2012 wasn’t it?
When I wrote “Schools Out: Central Ohio Schools “ on the Friday before Memorial Day 2012 I got a comment that said “My kids looking forward to the upcoming school year.” The comment was spam. The comment was not even from someone in Columbus, or even central Ohio. Or the US. The commenter was probably a bot. Not that there are not kids that look forward to next year. Perhaps bot kids are more school focused. In my opinion even kids who love school are looking forward to a couple of months of swimming, playing, biking, camping at the end of each school year. Those kids who really, really don’t love school? Those kids really need summer vacation.
For the 2012 – 2013 school year, the “Back to School” day one for the Columbus City School District is August 21, 2012…
The last day of school in Columbus schools next year is May 30, 2013… well unless the school uses up all their calamity days in the 2012- 2013 . Remember “calamity days” or “snow days?” Calamity Days was not a big issue in the 2011- 2012 school year for the any central Ohio school district. I don’t see anything on the Columbus schools 2012 -2013 Traditional Calendar about Calamity Days or Snow Days.
Double check me on the school webiste http://www.columbus.k12.oh.us/ There are Columbus students in a year round program as well.
