Frustrated in Franklin County

by Maureen McCabe on May 13, 2011

Happy Friday the 13th*… for some reason I expected today’s Nablopomo to be about scary stories.  Or LUCK.  Or Black cats.  Or superstition… “Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit”  I was not prepared for today’s prompt:

“Talk about the last time you were frustrated.”

How frustrating…  not what I expected, today.

Hmmm last night I was frustrated.  Frustrated in Franklin County… no actually I was just north of Franklin County, in the Lewis Center area of Delaware County.  I was trying to send a fax to a 614 area code  phone number at a  Staples store in southern Delaware County.  I thought I was probably faxing to a real estate office in the Polaris area. The self serve fax had instructions.  Dial 1 for long distance.  Dial 614 for numbers in the 614 area code.  I dialed 1-614. Wrong.  That put the fax machine to sleep.   The very nice Staples employee who was trying to help three of us (and I was self servicing … at $1.35 a page after all) asked me how I was doing …  I told her the fax was sleeping.  I told her I had dialed 1- 614 and the fax number… she told me I only needed the 614.  Frustrated? Maybe a little bit.  I resent to the number and 614 without a “1.”

Much better.  It took a long time to go through. I paid Staples  $13.45 bill and left Staples to go home.

Then I got a voice mail with a different fax number…  The number I should have sent the fax too all along?

Frustration is phone lines to a business which should have been up Monday and aren’t up on Thursday force you to fax from Staples…. but I don’t want to rant.  Have I mentioned my email on my cell phone stopped working a day or so ago?

LOL, that’s hysterical. Good ol’ fax machines.

I dug a fax machine out of the closet… It worked fine, for sending.  Maybe I stopped using it because of a problem in receiving faxes.
