We live up in Delaware. She works near OSU and I work downtown. It was about an hour and fifteen minute commute (~15 miles)from the Worthington Hills trail; where Olentangy river road turns into 315 ...to downtown. I carried my work stuff, change of clothes and my lunch bag in a backpack with chest and waist straps. Yes, I wiped out and gashed my shin and the chain slipped...but it was just me being idiotic. All you need is the proper gear - Helmet, gloves, etc and you'll be fine. Also, don't try any stunts for the first few rides at least. Just stay on the trail and away from the streets and you'll be fine.
